Users of concrete tools are on course to see a growth in business in Wrexham, according to the Daily Post.

Read Construction was forced to cut jobs when it was hit by the recession and its turnover is still expected to fall from £20 million last year to £16 million in 2010, the newspaper said.

However, the company has stated that it expects to see a return to expansion after recent investments.

"[Read Construction is] building the business so it is leaner and smarter and scalable ... so that when things do pick up the business has the ability and capacity to grow without us necessarily having to double the size of everything," Mr Heaton commented.

Noting that the economy is more stable than it has been, he admitted that the building industry was still vulnerable and conditions challenging for the sector.

The firm recently won a Cheshire Built In Award for the best public or community project for its work on the AMD and Opthalmology Unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
