TOPICAL GUARD is a water based a film-forming sealer that improves the surface sheen and stain resistance of conventional concrete, hardened concrete or cement terrazzo floors. This sealer is designed to be used when the polished surface is needing extra protection from topical harsh spills and chemical attacks.

Properties

TOPICAL GUARD reduces the penetration of aqueous liquids, grease, oils and other dirt. The product is easy to apply and imparts high gloss when burnished. The effectiveness depends on the material and absorption of the surface. Depending on the material and surface treatment, it can also lead to different results in the resistance of stain protection. TOPICAL GUARD forms a microscopic semi-topical barrier that protects the surface from stains and etching due to harsh spills. It increases the gloss of the surface after burnishing and will also enhance the appearance of stained and/or dyed polished concrete floors. Basically there is no or only minimal changing of the surface color (color enhancement). The water absorption will be strongly reduced.

The active ingredients are UV-resistant and not yellowing, and although it is a film-forming product, it stays breathable (diffusion open).

Processing
The treated surface must be dry and free from impurities. To ascertain the consumption make a separate sample area of the same surface. Mix well before using. Apply TOPICAL GUARD with a low-pressure sprayer and spread material with a short-hair microfiber mop. Do not atomize. Using the mop, apply a firm downward pressure and immediately spread the product to produce a thin, even coating. Spread the product as far as possible while maintaining a wet edge. Properly applied, TOPICAL GUARD dries quickly. Stop spreading once drying begins. Avoid overlapping. Multiple coats may be required in high wear areas depending on traffic conditions. If so, leave to dry for approx. 1 hour before second application.

Fully dried coating (2–24 hours) may be buffed to a high gloss finish using a 3000 grit diamond impregnated Hiperclean pad. Allow 24 hours prior to final buffing for full benefit. Temperatures for application should be 40–100° F (4–38° C).

Drying time
The drying time (ready for traffic) is between 1-2 hours. According to ambient temperature and humidity, drying time can vary. Protect from water exposure for 24hrs. Maximum protection will develop over 7 days. Consumption rate

Store in cool, dry place, in closed container. Protect from frost. Shelf Life: 12 months in factory-sealed, unopened container. Opened cans should be worked up as soon as possible. Manufacturing date is stuck onto the pail with the Julian date Code with a sticker as in YYDDD.

Environmental Protection
The product is not classified as environmentally hazardous. It does not contain any substances regulated as pollutants pursuant to the Clean Water Act (40 CFR 122.21 and 40 CFR 122.42) However, this does not exclude the possibility that large or frequent spills can have a harmful or damaging effect on the environment. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/ national/international regulations. Completely emptied packages can be recycled.

Health & Safety
Husqvarna TOPICAL GUARD is a "Hazardous Chemical" as defined by OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200, but does not contain any substances regulated as hazardous substances under the CERCLA (40 CFR 302) or the SARA (40 CFR 355). Nor does it contain any Proposition 65 chemicals. Safety data sheet available at request.
