Rain protection for concrete pours could be in greater demand in the west of the UK in the coming days and weeks.

The Met Office has forecasted an unsettled weather picture for the next 30 days, with showers expected throughout the rest of October and early November.

While no severe weather is currently foreseen, the organisation reports that the north and west could also see temperatures below the usual conditions for the time of year, which could make concrete frost blankets a necessity for construction firms.

"The generally unsettled weather looks set to continue with drier and brighter conditions interspersed with wetter periods," the Met Office predicts for the period from November 2nd to 16th, following the pattern over the preceding two weeks.

Rain protection for concrete pours in the wetter northern and western regions could help to safeguard investment and retain profitability, following a report from The Construction Index that much activity at the moment is centred on the south-east and preparations for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
