Hexagon cattle flooring concrete imprint roller
Finishers creating concrete surfaces for a livestock area can purchase a roller which imprints a hexagonal pattern onto the material, this hexagonal texture roller allows the cattle grip in all directions. This anti-slip surface also allows for the fast drainage of fluids.
The specially-designed rollers are quick and easy to use, can be filled with liquid to add the weight required for your surface and are easy to clean.
Zyglide Liquid Release can be purchased which is essential to ensuring the roller doesn't pick up concrete while it is being used, we have found this to be a common mistake made in regards to this proceedure. Zyglide is available in 5 litre or 25 litre volumes.
What comes with the kit?
The roller which is 91cm wide with a 23cm diameter
A snap adaptor connected to the aluminium frame which is compatible with the standard 45mm snap handles we supply.
Tips for usage
Ensure you have ample reach on the slab we would suggest 4 to 5 metres to ensure the pattern stays straight, this is a two man job as when the roller gets to the far edge someone will have to pick the roller up and place it correctly so the pattern is uniform as it is pulled back towards the operative.
The true artform of this process and key to a successful outcome is firstly the mix of concrete used and secondly timing. Knowing when the concrete is ready to receive the texturing roller is critical. In regards to the concrete mix we would advise a pump mix containing a high sand content with a 4 inch slump.
