The Grooving Texture float offers the concrete finisher an alternative method of producing a non slip finish to brush work for livestock and traffic areas.
The grooving texture float feature a replaceable aluminium strip on the leading edge of the float. The operator will pass the float out over the bay on the smooth edge before twisting the aluminium handles to engage the grooving edge. Pulling the float back towards them will cut the desired grooves into the slab surface.
The aluminium strip is replaceable. This allows for the groove spacing to be varied depending upon application.
When to use?
Users should be mindful when operating this tool. Too early and the groove cuts will fall back in on themselves. This however can be relatively easily rectified with a big blue / easy float to take out the lines and start again. Too late however and you will struggle to make the cut! Extra weight can be added to the float with out float weights in these circumstances
Our multitrac texturing float offers a slightly cheaper alternative. In this concrete float the spacing is cast in so cannot be changed. However if your only needing one spacing it offers a more cost effective solution.
For livestock areas both this tool and the multitrac have been traditionally the tools to use as a scraper bucket will not 'scrub' out the texture. We recently have developed a new hexagon pattern imprint roller designed especially for livestock areas. Please see the hexagon roller for more info
