A W Rose trowel could be the ideal item to put with your other bricklaying tools, if these recommendations are anything to go by.

According to Masonry, it makes good sense for builders to rely on the best-known brands when buying a brick trowel, as you get a guarantee of quality.

The book also noted that products from leading brands are much better balanced and can be a pleasure to handle.

It has therefore recommended the W Rose trowel as its brick trowel of choice.

Meanwhile, Building with Masonry has been equally full of praise for the brand.

The publication remarked: "For most professional masons, choosing a trowel is not taken lightly."

Indeed, it said the blade of a good bricklayer's trowel should flex when spreading or furrowing mortar joints.

This, it continued, takes away a lot of the strain that could otherwise be put on a person's fingers and wrists.

However, the book noted that the amount of bending or flexing a person wants their brick trowel to do is a matter of personal choice.
