Using concrete tamping tools could be a good way to make a concrete surface look more interesting, experts have suggested.

According to eHow, concrete tampers can be used on all sorts of outdoor concrete projects to improve their visual appeal.

These can be used to stamp decorative designs into a surface in conjunction with a concrete texture mat.

"Stamping concrete is an easy way to take an otherwise plain concrete surface beautiful and interesting," eHow commented.

The website stated that tampers are often used on driveways and patios, as well as walkways.

However, it advised anyone using a concrete tamp to make sure they line up their stamp mats very carefully.

This, it said, is essential because the patterns will need to be aligned properly to prevent seam lines from appearing in the concrete.

The Heavy Duty Tamper from Kraft, which measures 11" by 11" and weighs 22 lbs, may be one good tamper for a builder to consider using.
