A concrete floor saw could be a handy concreting tool for many builders, as the material is very resistant to cutting.

According to a writer at eHow, its tough nature means highly specialised tools are required to cut through it properly.

Indeed, the expert noted that while manual handheld concrete cutting tools could be needed for some jobs, it may be necessary to use a large industrial cutter.

"Select a concrete cutting tool appropriate for the job," the analyst advised.

However, builders were reminded that regardless of what they use to cut concrete, they should take the necessary safety precautions.

They were encouraged to wear proper protective equipment, such as a face shield or safety goggles, as well as heavy and durable clothing.

"Motorised concrete cutting tools should never be used without appropriate guards," eHow added.

A Barikell Concrete Floor Saw can be obtained here on the Speedcrete website, along with a selection of diamond blades.
